Habitat: Narrow zone of muddy wet marsh, including a small bed of emergent and floating-leaved species on deep water side. Soil: fairly raw mucky peat; water: plentiful even during dry part of summer. Associated species for Cochrane 10111-10118: Alisma plantago-aquatica var. americanum, Sagittaria latifolia, Echinochloa walteri, Polygonum hydropiper, Ranunculus pensylvanicus, Lythrum slicaria, and Ludwigia palustris var. americana.
