Grassy meadow (old pasture, originally sedge meadow, grazed until 10 years ago) in mesic zone between creek and N-S-trending ridge. Assoc.: Achillea millefolium, Agrostis gigantea, Juncus dudleyi, Monarda fistulosa, Onoclea sensibilis (rare), and Solidago gigantea. Perigynia 4.5--5.0 X 1.3--2.0 mm; l/w = 2.5--3.7.
