Habitat: Xeric sand prairie, railroad right-of-way on high terrace of river vally. Andropogon scoparius dominant, with abundant A. gerardii, and Sorghastrum nutans, also Salsola kali, Rhus glabra, Monarda punctata, Ambrosia psilostachya, Solidago nemoralis, Helianthus occidentalis, Aster ericoides, A. sericeus, A. linariifolius.
