Taxon: Alopecurus aequalis Sobol.
Family: Poaceae
Collector: Forsyth, Dwight   s.n.
Date: 1973-06-01
Verbatim Date: 1973-06-01
Locality: United States, Wisconsin, Jefferson, Jefferson. 3 mi W of Jefferson on Hwy 18.
Habitat: Commercial sod field. The question was whether these grasses (Alopecurus aequalis and Puccinellia nuttalliana) occur commonly in the area or if they are contained in the seed used to reseed the sod field, The source of the seed was thought to be Washington or Oregon, where both species occur. Puccinellia nuttalliana has been collected only once in Wisconsin years ago, as a railroad waif in Superior. The question was unresolved. [not mapped for Flora of Wisconsin]
