Habitat:
Steep SW facing grassy bank below the stone wall of park and base of river bluff with thin woods of Tilia americana, Gleditsia triacanthos, Quercus rubra, the bank with mostly weedy plants such as Physalis heterophylla, Kuhnia eupatoroides, Gnaphalium obtusifolium, Asparagas officinalis, Leptoloma cognatum, and no. 22051 Tridens flavus (L.) Hitchc. A single low shrub 4 dm tall, with spreading branches and no central trunk. (This species abundant, the dominant grass, common on both sides of hwy in the mile from the entrance of power plant to entrance of park; on lower side of road common but mostly mowed off. This is the same colony collected Oct.14, 1972 as Nee 5402).
