Fine stand of upland hardwoods on bumpy-hilly rolling glacial topography; Miami loam soil (10 in.) gray-brown loam on top of fine clay loam). Acer saccharum - Fagus grandifolia with Tsuga canadensis, also Tilia americana, Ostrya virginiana, and Prunus serotina. Assoc. sedges include Carex convoluta, C. deweyana, C. laxiflora, and C. plantaginea. Additional information for No. 6438: A few trees rimming a small artificially opened (by cutting) depression in center of woods.
