Habitat: In ten acre tussock sedge-dominated open wetland with fen associated species and thick, peat soil. Associates include Aster borealis, Betula pumila, Bromus ciliatus, Cornus stolonifera, Gentianopsis procera, Liatris pycnostachya, Salix candida, Solidago riddellii, Solidago uliginosa, Thelypteris palustris, Valeriana edulis. Abundant. Strong, rank smell of old gym socks.
