Habitat: Weedy utility line right-of-way cleared through black spruce swamp. Rather wet, densely overgrown humus. Associates for 440-445: Dryopteris cristata, Bromus ciliatus, Salix serissima, S. petiolaris, Betula glandulifera, Spiraea alba, Geum aleppicum, Ledum groenlandicum, Galium triflorum, Eupatorium maculatum, Cirsium palustre, Solidago uliginosa, S. gigantea, Lactuca canadensis var. latifolia. Awns 4.1-4.5 mm long.
