Habitat: Roadside ditch cleared through black spruce swamp, its banks rather wet, densely overgrown (thickety) humus. Associates for 440-445: a) bank: Scirpus rubrotinctus, Polygonum sagittaum, Stellaria longifolia var. longifolia, Scutellaria lateriflora. b) standing water: Calla palustris, Iris versicolor, Glyceria canadensis, Potentilla palustris, Lysimachia thyrsiflora, Equisetum fluviatile dominates the less-vegetated ditch with deeper, very slowly flowering water across the road.
