Habitat: Under cedar and alder in a large, botanically diverse, very wet swamp dominated by alder (walking difficult) but with many scattered clumps of cedar. In sphagnum; immediate associates included Carex disperma, C. trisperma, C. interior, Vaccinium myrtilloides, Rubus pubescens, Osmunda regale, Osmunda cinnamomea, Smilacina trifolia. Platanthera clavellata was frequent in the area.
