Habitat:
Under cedar and alder in a large, botanically diverse, very wet swamp dominated by alder (walking difficult) but with many scattered clumps of cedar. In sphagnum; immediate associates included Carex disperma, C. trisperma, C. interior, Vaccinium myrtilloides, Rubus pubescens, Osmunda regale, Osmunda cinnamomea, Smilacina trifolia. Platanthera clavellata was frequent in the area. Ca 15 fruiting culms in two clumps. One clump is densely cespitose.
