Plants were in and between sphagnum hummocks. Associates included black spruce, Betula pumila, Menyanthes, Smilacina trifolia, Drosera rotundifolia, and other Carex spp. Numerous springs and several spring runs originate at the base of the uplands to the south. Black spruce swamp/bog covers much of the site, with large ares of bog birch/Myrica closer to the creek and spring runs. Tamarack and alder are also common, and there is at least one small area of cedar in the NE4.
