Habitat:
Forest (dominated by Pinus resinosa) on a S-facing slope and above a dirt road. The soil here is Padus-Pence sandy loams, 15 to 45 percent slopes (PeD). Padus is a coarse-loamy, mixed, frigid Alfic Haplorthod and Pence is a sandy, mixed frigid Entic Haplorthod. L. acuminata was frequent at this site and associated with Carex pensylvanica.
