Habitat: Extensive northern mesic hardwood forest on top of a small bluff-like peninsula. Acer saccharum dominant, with Abies balsamea and Ostrya virginiana. Rich understory developed on Niagara dolomite bed-rock fronting lake. Additional information for Cochrane & Cochrane 8106-8113: Open grassy edge of forest right at lake-front, with Thuja occidentalis, Populus tremuloides, Prunus virginiana, Cornus stolonifera, Cornus rugosa, C. alternifolia, Diervilla lonicera, & Lonicera (tatarica or Xbella).
