Habitat: Sedge meadow on peat deposit in small depression, latter an opening surrounded on N by road, W by Alnus-Cornus swamp, S & E by Thuja-Larix swamp. Carex sterilis (in loose tussocks) dominant, with Thuja occidentalis, Thelypteris palustris, Panicum implicatum, & Galium labradoricum all subdominant. Additional associates for Cochrane & Cochrane 7232-7242: Osmunda regalis var. spectabilis, Bromus ciliatus, Glyceria striata, Muhlenbergia glomerata, Carex flava var. fertilis, Anemone canadensis, Fragaria virginiana, Rubus pubescens, Cornus racemosa, Asclepias incarnata, Lycopus americanus, L. uniflorus, Mentha arvensis, Campanula aparinoides, Lobelia kalmii, Cirsium muticum, Eupatorium maculataum, E. perfoliatum, Solidago uliginosa.
