Open wet Carex stricta meadow along stream, with Thelypteris palustris var. pubescens, Glyceria striata, Carex interior (frequent), C. prairea (abundant), C. sterilis (common), C. tetanica (rare), Salix candida, Lathyrus palustris, Mentha canadensis (M. arvensis), Lycopus uniflorus, Cirsium muticum, Galium labradoricum, and Aster puniceus. Organic soil formed from sedge peat, underlain by silt or clay or marl, the habitat apparently calcareous though surrounded by hills of loamy sands. Common.
