Rich low deciduous woods, with a history of cutting but no grazing, (Acer saccharum-Tilia americana ass'n. with Quercus alba (large old trees), Fraxinus americana, Ulmus rubra, Ostrya virginiana, Carpinus caroliniana) on first terrace of river; dark-colored silt loam soil. A.) Grown-over lane. Assoc. species for Cochrane et al. 10064: Carex sprengelli, C. projecta, C. convoluta, C. laxiculmis, Ranunculus septentrionalis, Geum canadense, Scutellaria ovata, Solidago gigantea. Abundant; the greatest concentration of this sp. I've ever seen.
