Habitat: Edges of shallow, intermittently swampy depression in Acer saccharum-Quercus borealis forest, with Ulmus rubra and Ostrya virginiana. Soil: wet, black silty clay loam. Assoc. carices: convoluta, deweyana, digitalis, hirtifolia, pensylvanica, rosea, sparganioides, more/less also amphibola. Additional assoc. for 7482-7489: Arisaema triphyllum, Smilacina racemosa, Actaea pachypoda, Ranunculus abortivus, R. recurvatus, Parthenocissus vitacea, Impatiens capensis, Tilia americana saplings, Heracleum lanatum, Zizia aurea, Fraxinus pennsylvanica seedlings, Hydrophyllum virginianum, Galium triflroum, Viburnum lentago. No ferns present.
