Habitat: Loamy soil on steep stony slope facing NW. Good quality Quercus alba-Q. borealis forest with Ulmus americana & Prunus serotina, the Carex in semi-shade of an old logging road, where associated with a mixture of weedy native spp. On the side of steep limestone-capped bluff.
