Habitat: Semi-wooded floodplain; Acer negundo-1dom., Juglans nigra-2 dom., Salix spp.-3 dom., the understory of rank, weedy vegetation, all native spp. Assoc.: Aster lanceolatus, A. lateriflorus (very common), Clematis virginiana, Napaea dioica, Calystegia sepium, Carex trichocarpa, Polygonum scandens, Rudbeckia laciniata, Silphium perfoliatum, Thalictrum dasycarpum, Urtica dioica ssp. gracilis (abundant).
