Habitat:
A small, shallow brown-water lake in terminal moraine. Moist, slightly mucky sand of lakeshore, basically an open habitat but in light shade af adjacent lower edge of black oak barrens. Assoc.: Juncus brevicaudatus, Spiraea tomentosa var. rosea seedlings, and Hypericum majus. Forming a zone 15in = 4dm wide parallel to and 2yd=1.8m from water's edge.
