Habitat: Especially in wetter, more open spots near shrubs. Wet, Carex-dominated E side of gorgeous (never plowed) wet-mesic prairie remnant. Associates incl. Carex buxbaumii, C. languinosa, C. sartwellii, C. tenera, C. tetanica, Hypoxis hirsuta, Salix petiolaris, Anemone canadensis, Saxifraga pensylvanica, Fragaria virginiana, Viola sp., Zizia aurea, Phlox pilosa var. fulgida, Galium abtusum var. ramosum, Cacalia tuberosa, Silphium terebinthinaceum.
