Old corn field (one year fallow) on sandy loam soil, formerly dry or dry-mesic prairie on high terrace of river valley. Assoc. incl. Cycloloma atriplicifolia, Froelichia floridana, Mollugo verticillata, Euphorbia corollata, Oenothera rosettes, and many grasses. Assoc. include Cenchrus longispinus, Setaria viridis, and Digitaria sanguinalis.
