Habitat: Occassional in high-quality wet prairie on moist sandy soil. With Carex haydenii, C. buxbaumii, C. tetanica, Baptisia leucophaea, Potentilla fruiticosa, Spartina pectinata, and Pedicularis canadensis.
Occurrence Remarks: Originally identified as Carex festucacea. Additional directions: From just past field office walk SW ca 600m to White River. Cross River and go ca. 50m to S.
