Habitat: Open, dune-like channel bank between river & road. Low rocky ridge of soft sandstone and flat plain of Boone fine sand along river. Additional associates for Cochrane & Cochrane 5795: Poa compressa, Leptoloma cognatum, Panicum oligosanthes, Eragrostis cilianensis, Sporobolus cryptandrus, Cenchrus longispinus, Tephrosia virginiana, Monarda punctata, Artemisia caudata, Conyza canadensis, Ambrosia psilostachya, Muhlenbergia glomerata. Dry open sand with scattered grasses. Achene 2.5 x 1.3 mm.
