Habitat:
Mucky shore of drying lake at water's edge, with Ranunculus sceleratus, Cyperus engelmannii, C. diandrus & Bidens cernua. Marhsy shore of lake, the water 4 ft. low according to informant due to consecutive seasons of drought, incl. this year's record drought, the normal shoreline marked by a line of Carex stricta tussocks, the exposed bed a very gentle slope that is mucky in some places (and dominated by Leersia oryzoides colonies or invaded by millions of sedge, grass, rush, and mint seedlings), sandy (and more open) in others. Habitat information for Cochrane & Cochrane 11619-11622: Main body of marsh, Carex stricta dominant, the drier edges with Phalaris arundinacea dominant, with Echinochloa sp., Eleocharis intermedia, Scirpus validus, Polygonum lapathifolium, Ranunculus acceleratus, Verbena hastata, Lycopus americanus, Bidens cernua, and Eupatorium perfoliatum.
