Habitat: Rich moist deciduous woods (Acer saccharum dominant, with Tilia americana and Fraxinus americana). Hab. A.) assoc.: Carex rosea, C. hirtifolia, C. sparganioides, C. amphibola var. turgida, Arisaema triphyllum, Trillium recurvatum, Trillium recurvatum, Smilacina racemosa, Ranuculus septentrionalis Very abundant. I've never seen so much if this species.
