Habitat: Extensive, diverse and open fen all along shore of lake. Main wet meadow Caex sterilis dominant, C. lasiocarpa subdominant, with Thelypteris palustris var. pubescens, Parnassia glauca, and Potentilla fruticosa ssp. Floribunda all abundant, and Equisetum arvense, E. fluviatile, Carex buxbaumii, C. leptalea, C. interior, Eleocharis erythropoda, E. compressa, E. pauciflora var. fernaldii, Eriophorum viridicarinatum, Liparis loeselli, Salix spp. (incl. S. candida, S. pedicellaris), Drosera rotundifolia, Pedicularis lanceolata, Hypericum kalmianum (rare), Viola nephrophylla, Utricularia intermedia, Circium muticum, Aster borealis. Abundant near lakeshore (I used to think that the habitats of Carex diandra and C. prairies were subtly different, but both are here, the latter very local, with many of the same associates, at the upper edge of the fen in the narrow transition zone with the adjoining shrub carr, 60 ft. away from the densest concentration of C. diandra)
