Habitat: Field, long fallow (former lowland prairie, plowed once about 15 years ago, never planted); deep, moist, poorly drained clayey soil of the Montgomery series. Assoc.: Asclepias syriaca, Elymus virginicus, Elytrigia repens, Melilotus alba, Panicum miliaceum ssp. ruderale, Poa pratensis, Thalictrum dasycarpum. N one-third of tract, a buffer zone contiguous with (and once part of) the prairie.
