Habitat:
Found with Asclepias incarnata, Verbena hastata, Carex spp., Solidago, Vitis, Oxalis, Equisetum, Eupatorium, Oenothera, Typha, Ulmus, Sagittaria, Alnus, Betula, Salix, Scirpus. No slope. Little to no shade. Soil wet, rich, black: marsh detritus. Less common in this marsh periphery or lowland/upland ecotone.
