Habitat:
Eroding sand along upper edge of shallow roadside ditch. Weedy community of mostly native species commonly adventive in open ground: Selaginella rupestris, Koeleria macrantha, Panicum sp., Lepidium densiflorum, Silene antirrhina, Lespedeza capitata, Erysimum inconspicuum, Penstemon grandiflorus, Helianthus occidentalis, Centaurea beibersteinii. Flowering heads all closed (3:20 p.m. CDT).
