Habitat: Damp sandy bank, lakeshore at water's edge; very narrow zone dominated by Carex stricta, in partial shade of overhanging white birch (with red maple, hemlock white spruce) woods, with only few plants of each sp. listed. Assoc.: Onoclea sensibilis, Thelypteris palustris, Poa sp., Agrostis perennans, Calamagrostis canadensis, Agrostis gigantea, Muhlenbergia sp., Carex crawfordii, C. comosa, Spiraea alba, Prunus virginiana, Amelanchier sp., Impatiens capensis, Lysimachia terrestris, Cicuta bulbifera, Epilobium sp., Asclepias incarnata, Lycopus uniflorus, Mentha arvensis, Scutellaria galericulata, S. lateriflora, Galium sp., Eupatorium maculatum, Solidago graminifolia, Alnus rugosa. Rare; at water's edge.
