Habitat:
Abies balsamea-Acer rubrum forest with Betula papyrifera, Picea glauca, Populus grandidentata, P. tremuloides, P. balsamifera, Quercus borealis, Pinus strobus, & P. banksiana along shore between boggy wet marsh margin and drier woods with Pinus resinosa & fewer other conifers. The plant under a red maple ca. 20ft from small bog hole. Assoc.: Osmunda claytoniana, Dryopteris spinulosa, Maianthemum canadense, Clintonia borealis, and Gaultheria procumbens. The forest also contains Trillium cernuum, Comptonia peregrina, Prunus pensylvanica, and Pyrola elliptica. One clump of 55 fruiting stems collected.
