Habitat: In full sun growing on disturbed ground (a trail) next to a fen. This plant dominates the trail. Associates include Ranunculus acris, Trfolium arvense, Trifolium pratense, Hypericum punctatum, Melotus alba, and Eupatorium maculatum.
