Habitat:
Southern upland forest, varying from dry-mesic (upper slopes) to mesic (middle & lower slopes), the dominant trees changing from place to place within the contiguous area with respect to relative importance values; compositional transitions also apparent to the relic stand of northern mesic, hemlock-dominated forest. Steep N-facing slopes w? low cliffs and conglomerate boulders overlying (Upper Cambrian) Galesville Sandstone, S shore of river. Bouldery stream course in bottom of ravine with trickle of flowing water, in area of relic hemlock (Tsuga canadensis) stand, with Cystopteris bulbifera, Athyrium angustum, Arisaema triphyllum, Pilea pumila, and Cicaea lutetiana, & C. alpina side-by-side.
