Habitat: Area is steeply hilly and wooded, mesic. Frequent herbs: Silene virginica, Helianthus strumosus, Eupatorium purpureum, Amphicarpaea bracteata, Potentilla simplex (along dirt road), Sanicula sp., Osmorhiza sp., Podophyllum peltatum, Geranium maculatum, Desmodium glutinosum. Frequent trees: Acer saccharum, Ulmus americana, Ostrya virginiana, Quercus rubra, Carya cordiformis.
