Habitat: On moist, moss covered rocks in spring-fed stream. Shaded by Quercus spp. Mostly open sedge meadow and cattail marsh with some shrubs and small trees. Carex stricta dominates the less disturbed areas. With Hypoxis hirsuta, Caltha palustris var. palustris, Viola spp., Sporobolus (asper?), Cirsium muticum, Convolvulus sepium, Cuscuta grovonii, Asclepias syriaca, A. incurnata, Chelone glabra, Monarda fistulosa, Echynocystis lobata, Cornus racemosa, Rubus idaeus, Lonicera tatarica X Morrowi, C. stolonifera, Salix discolor, S. nigra, S. interior, Eupatorium perfoliatum, E. maculatum, Lobelia spicata, Lysimachia quadriflora, Veronica serpyllifolia, Prunus serotina, Acer negundo, A. saccharinum, Populus deltoides.
