Habitat: Semi-open community on wet non-acid peat, inways resembling a conifer swamp (Larix laricina the aspect dominant; Rhus vernix present), in others a wet prairie (densely grassy, w/ Calamagrostis canadensis dominant; Carex stricta present but not forming tussocks), but the prevalent groundlayer species a combination of those found in sedge meadow & shrub-carr.
