Georeference Remarks: Latitude/Longitude was derived from the Township, Range, Section location. This causes an imprecision.
Habitat: Abandoned gravel pit in glacial drift, mostly open with much bare sand and gravel, but some invasion of young Ulmus pumila, Populus deltoides, Lonicera x bella, Morus alba, etc. Quite weedy, with Poa spp., Androsace occidentalis, Holosteum umbellatum (rare) and Lithospermum incisum (collected here 5-17-1981), but at this time of year aspect dominated by Aster spp., Melilotus spp., Artemisia caudata, Verbena stricta, Asclepias verticillata, Sporobolus spp. Occasional. Flowers yellow; anthers and pollen orange.
