Habitat: Along abandoned RR bed. Oak savanna/oak opening. Growing on a SW-facing slope in mostly sun and dry soil. Assoc. include: Quercus alba (dominant canopy tree), Dodecatheon meadia, Carex pensylvanica, Rhus glabra, Achillea millifolium, Antennaria plantaginifolia, Erigeron pulchellus, Oxalis stricta, Fragaria virginiana, Lathyrus ochroleucus, Carex convoluta, Sisyrinchium albidium.
