Habitat: On dry, NW-facing dolomitic bluff-top prairie with Andropogon scoparius, Bouteloua curtipendula, Sorghastrum nutans, Juniperus horizontalis, Euphorbia corollata, Aster laevis, A. ptarmicoides, Coreopsis palmata, Solidago rigida, S. nemoralis, Liatris cylindracea, Petalostemum purpureum, and Aster oblongifolius anugustatus also associates. Linum sulcatum. Rare, a few stems.
