Locality: United States, Wisconsin, Grant, Cassville. Along CTH VV, 1mi. NW of Cassville. Below stone wall of Nelson Dewey State Park and base of Mississippi River bluff.

Georeference Remarks: Latitude/Longitude was derived from the Township, Range, Section location. This causes an imprecision.
Habitat: Steep SW-facing grassy bank and base of river bluff with thin woods of Tilia americana, Gleditsia triacanthos, Quercus heterophylla, the bank with mostly weedy plants such as Physalis heterophylla, Kuhnia eupatoriodes, Gnaphalium obtusifolium Asparagus officianalis, Leptoloma cognatum and no. 22051 Tridens flavus (L) Hitchc. (This species abundant, the dominant grass. Common on both sides of Hwy; on lower side of road common but mostly mowed off. This is the same colony collected Oct. 14, 1972 as Nee 5402). Fruit turning orange, pleasant-tasting. Fruiting calyx subequally angled, 5 alternate ribs stronger.
