Habitat: Grassy sand prairie. Assoc.: Comandra umbellata subsp. umbellata, Coreopsis palmata, Helianthus occidentalis, Penstemon grandiflorus, Polygonatum biflorum, Symphyotrichum ericoides, and S. sericeum.
Occurrence Remarks: Frequent. Flowers in FAA and buds in Jackson's fixative.
