Habitat:
Marshy shore. 0-18" water. [Lowest (only) per. reflexed, tough-walled; beaks long but teeth of intermediate length; basal sheaths red, more septate-nodulose than in C. hystericina, less so than usual for C. comosa. These characters suggest Carex comosa X C. hystericina - T.S. Cochrane, 2006]
