Habitat: Large sandy prairie opening with solid stand of Andropogon gerardii but species poor. Spireaea alba, Veronicastrum virginicum, Artemesia ludovician. Large complex of mostly little disturbed river bottomland, ranging from floodplain forest of Acer saccharinum, Quercus bicolor, Lobelia cardinalis, to drier sandy openings with many prairie species, Panicum virgatum, Ambrosia artemisiifolia. Shrub 1m tall.
