Habitat: Dry rocky bluff prairie on S-&SW-facing hilltops. Little disturbed & with excellent diversity. With Andropogon scoparius, A. gerardii, Sporobolus heterolepis, Bouteloua hirsuta, B. cutipendula, Carex eburnea, Petalostemum candidum, P. purpureum, Muhlenbergia racemosa, M. cuspidata, Liatris cylindracea, L. aspera, Aster oblonigifolius, A. ericoides, A. azureus, A. sericeus, Celastrus scandens, Euphorbia corolatta, Amorpha canescens, Prunus pumila, Kuhnia eupatorioides, Coreopsis palmata, Linum sulcatum, Artemisia caudata, Solidago viridiflora, and on rock outcrops Pellaea glabella & Campanula rotundifolia.
