Habitat: In shallow water (1--3 in. deep) of river. In full sun among sparse aquatic vegetation with Leersia virginica, Phalaris arundinacea, Schoenoplectus tabernaemontani, etc. Bordered by floodplain forest (Acer saccharinum-Fraxinus pennsylvanica- Quercus bicolor) a few meters to the north. Small colony of only a few plants, these to 1 m tall.
