Habitat: Wet boreal forest (swamp); Thuja occidentalis (1 dom.)-Betula papyrifera (2 dom.), w/ Abies balsamea and Sorbus americana. Small, Carex dominates swampy opening. Associated with: Equisetum sylvaticum, Thelypteris palustris v. pubescens, Botrychium matricariaefolium, Osmunda cinnamomea, Dryopteris spinulosa, s.1., Carex brunnescens, C. intumescens, Lycopus uniflorus, Trientalis borealis, Viola sp., Galium tinctorium, Abies balsamea, & Sorbus americana seedlings.
