Habitat: Wet tussock sedge meadow with mossy, mucky surface occupying a formerly larger lake basin, marl over deep peat. Assoc.: Sparganium eurycarpum, Typha latifolium, Phragmites australis, Carex aquatilis, Salix candida, Pilea fontana, Polygonum punctatum, Impatiens capensis, Triadenum fraseri, Epilobium leptophyllum, Lycopus uniflorus, Scutellaria galericulata, S. lateriflora, Galium trifidum, Campanula aparinoides ssp. grandiflora, Bidens coronata, Scirpus validus, S. acutus, and S. acutus X S. validus.
