Habitat: Fine if smallish stand of upland hardwoods on relatively deep soil (Miami Silt Loam). Acer saccharum dominant, Fagus grandifolia subdominant, with Tilia americana, also Ostrya virginiana, Prunus serotina, and, in one wetter area, Tsuga canadensis.
