Habitat: Thin woods on top of bluff, old pasture being invaded by many young trees, Tilia americana, Fraxinus pennsylvanica var. pennsylvanica, F. pennsylvanica var lanceolata, Juniperus virginiana, Populus grandidentata, P. tremuloides. Abundandt as saplings.
